Worldwide Cost of Living 2018 Singapore remains the most expensive city in the world, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Worldwide Cost of Living. The survey compares more than 400 individual prices across over 150 products and services, and is the basis of our ranking of the world’s major cities by cost of living.

The cost-of-living index, or general index, shows the difference in living costs between cities. The cost of living in the base city is always expressed as 100. The cost of living in the destination is then indexed against this number. The ACCRA Cost of Living Index  or ACCRA COLI is designed to compare the living expenses for various regions of the country.
